Street Fighter 6 showdown in the heart of the desert — Virtus.pro & EWC’s hottest challenge yet

The third and final challenge in the series of wild stunts from Virtus.pro and EWC is finally here! In this closing battle, Artem “fng” Barshak and Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin took each other on in Street Fighter 6, right in the heart of the Kyzylkum Desert in Uzbekistan.

The desert quickly reminded us we weren’t alone out there. While setting up the filming location, we had to pause after spotting a snake, while desert beetles and lizards kept a close watch on our every move. The plan was to wrap filming by 10 AM, but delays pushed the start of the fight into the blazing heat. By then, the air temperature had long passed 40°C, and the sand was scorching.

Soon after shooting began, a full-on sandstorm hit! The wind blasted sand straight into the faces of the players and crew, making it nearly impossible to breathe or see clearly. The whole process took about an hour, and without help, escaping the sandy trap would’ve been impossible.

On top of the heat came technical issues: the console and screen overheated and shut down, forcing us to hook up extra power. Sand was everywhere — in eyes, mouths, ears, and clothes. By the end of the shoot, our water supply was completely gone, but not our drive to set a record.

This was the last and final Virtus.pro and EWC challenge of this year’s tournament. Our teams have once again proved that nothing is impossible for them!
