What is known about Polish Dota 2?

At least it exists!

There's no need to remind our readers about the renowned professional Polish CS:GO scene. Besides Virtus.pro, such teams as Team Kinguin, AGO, and PriDE immediately come to mind. But with the Poles in Dota 2, the situation is not as clear.

"Poland is LoL and CS:GO dominated country," says Team Kinguin's manager Michał «mr0» Jackowski in his interview for Virtus.pro. "There are huge disadvantages - the player pool is very small, and the fanbase is small as well. We, as a team, are rooting for any upcoming Polish squads and wish them the best. We know that there are talented players besides us in Poland, and we hope to see them shine in the near future."

Team Kinguin is represented by the most renowned Polish Dota 2 line-up. The team received Team Kinguin's partnership in September 2017. Previously, the players have represented Alternate aTTaX, Team Singularity and played under their own banner – Let's Do It.

The roster consists of Rafał "eL lisasH" Wójcik, the team's captain, Natan "Exotic_Deer" Michalewicz, Michał "Nisha" Jankowski, Paweł "Patos" Naruszewicz, and Jakub "kacor" Kocjan. The Poles are most known for their consistent performance in the ProDotA Cup tournament series.

Team Kinguin's main achievements are 3-4th place in DOTA Summit 8, 5-6th place in Perfect World Masters, and 3rd place in World Cyber Arena 2017 Europe Finals.

"We've met VP guys at the Summit, we really like them. They are a very talented team, probably the best in the world, despite the lack of the 1st place results. Hard to tell, Dota community is relatively small here, and I don't think Polish fans have any favorites on VP roster. My guess would be either No[o]ne or Ramzes."

Team Kinguin's MMR and player roles (the latest data)

Exotic_Deer (carry) – 8330

Nisha (midlaner) – 7040

Patos (offlaner) – 7114

eL lisasH (support) – 6403

kacor (support) – 6805

Curiously, nearly the entire professional Polish Dota scene passed through Let's Do It mix – it can even be called Poland's Dota Academy. The fraction of players who left the roster after 2014 has also tried themselves in Alternate aTTaX before leaving for other less known teams.

Besides the local scene, Polish players also represent various international squads. For instance, Filip “Fey” Musialski plays under the banner of the Russian organization Elements Pro Gaming.

Nearly all stars of the professional Polish Dota could be seen on Legends Factory Poznan 2016 tournament organized by Dota2.pl. ALTERNATE aTTaX claimed the first place – four its former members are now playing in Team Kinguin. Przemysław "Supreme" Jankowski is the only exception – his career first led him to Silestian Earthshakers, then to 5FRAGS.
