VP and Astralis trade wins in ECS S3

Our CS:GO roster faced Astralis in the third season of the Esports Championship Series. The match was in a The match was in a double best-of-1 format.

First map stats (Inferno):

The match began on Inferno. VP started on offense. The Poles won the first pistol round, but made a mistake during an eco (1-1). In the full buy round, Virtus.pro G2A entered the A site and protected the bomb (2-3). Astralis went for a foce buy and repelled an attack on the B site (2-4). In Round 9, TaZ won a 1v2 clutch (3-6). The Danes took the initiative and brought the score in the first half to 4-11.

The Poles prevailed in the second pistol round, with Snax making three kills. VP repelled three Astralis attacks, but couldn’t hold out against a rush during an eco (8-12). A round later, Virtus.pro repelled an attack on the A site. The Danes slowed down the pace and retook the initiative (9-12). A struggling economy prevented the Poles from coming back in the game: 9-16.

Second map stats (Train):

The match continued on Train. VP started in defense. Kjaerbye scored an ace in the first pistol round. The Poles took the full buy round (1-3). The Danes made two successful attacks, after which Virtus.pro repelled an assault on the A site. Taking the initiative, Virtus.pro won the first half 8-7. After switching sides, VP took the pistol round and made no mistakes during the eco (11-7).

Swift and aggressive actions allowed the Polish team’s winning streak to reach map (15-7). The Danes repelled an attack on the A site, but the Poles went for a well-coordinated safe plant, and won the match.
