VP.G2A won against G2 at ELEAGUE Major 2017

Virtus.pro faced G2 Esports in the second round of the group stage. VP.G2A outperformed OpTic Gaming in Cobblestone (16:13) in the first matches of the major, and G2 defeated Fnatic (16:10 @ Cache).

Match statistics (Nuke):

The teams competed in Nuke. Virtus.pro started as terrorists losing a pistol round. Planting the bomb during an eco round allowed "bears" to buy weapons and win the third round (1:2). G2 Esports managed to defend during the next round by gathering more people around plant A. NEO’s incredible performance in a 2v3 situation allowed the Polish squad to win the fifth round (2:3).

The teams continued to win rounds by turns, but the Polish team evened out the score and took the lead (6:5). VP.G2A were surrounded at the lower plant in a 2v5 situation. However, Snax scored three kills with a shotgun (7:5). Having won three rounds in a row, G2 finished the first part of the match with a score of 7:8 thus taking the lead.

After switching sides, G2 won the pistol round thanks to four frags by bodyy (7:9). In two rounds Snax won a 1v1 situation (8:11). Virtus.pro G2A started closing the score gap. During the 24th round Snax shined again: he made four kills (10:14). Evening out the score in the 28th round, the “bears” ruined G2’s economy and without any trouble won the match (16:14).

VP.G2A’s next opponent will be Gambit Gaming. Gambit outperformed North in the first round of the group stage and defeated GODSENT in the second one. The match will occur on January 24 at 19:45 CET.
