Virtus.pro loses to AVANGAR and leaves ACL

The Poles were 3 rounds short from the grand final.

In the Adrenaline Cyber League 2018 semi-finals Virtus.pro CS:GO roster have faced a Kazakhstan team AVANGAR. The match was played in the best-of-3 format. All three maps were needed to determine the winner.

Virtus.pro [3:16] AVANGAR @ Mirage

The series started on AVANGAR's pick - Mirage. The opening pistol round was unsuccessful for VP. After losing 2 more rounds, the Poles returned the favor by winning the first buy-round. The Kazakhstan line-up was ruthless in their aggressive mid control and closed out the first half with a score of 3:12 in their favor.

After the side swap, AVANGAR won the pistol round and cleaned up the three remaining rounds on their map pick – 0:1.

Virtus.pro [16:3] AVANGAR @ Train

Virtus.pro had Train as their pick and started it on the offense. The Poles took the first 7 rounds in a convincing fashion by isolating their positions from the opponent's daring lunges. AVANGAR claimed 3 rounds in the first half and started their offense with a score of 12:3. VP have then claimed the pistol round, cementing their victory by taking 3 next rounds – 1:1.

Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski became the hero of the map. His sniper rifle stopped the AVANGARs right in their tracks many times over the course of the first half of Train.

The first finalist of ACL 2018 was decided on Cache. Virtus.pro started on offense. The Kazakhstan roster have claimed the first 3 rounds. After being down with a score of 1:5 VP reclaimed the initiative by taking 5 rounds in a row (6:5).AVANGAR then claimed the 4 remaining rounds of the half in their favor. Virtus.pro have closed the gap once again (9:9) and even claimed the lead (11:9), but AVANGAR were the ones to reach the match-point first (11:15). The Poles couldn't take the game into overtime, leaving the server with a score of 13:16.

Failing to advance to the grand-final of the Adrenaline Cyber League 2018 for the first time, Virtus.pro finish their Moscow run in the 3-4th place.

CS2
