Virtus.pro tied with Kinguin at ESL Pro League S5

Kinguin were our CS:GO roster’s second opponent at the ESL Pro Leagues Season 5. Earlier, Virtus.pro G2A had tied with Natus Vincere, while Kinguin had won against FaZe Clan.

First map stats (Overpass):

VP.G2A started Overpass on defence. Kinguin took the first pistol round. Two ecos later, the Bears took the initiative and evened the score: 3-3. Kinguin responded immediately, changing the pace of the game and winning three rounds in a row (3-6). Before switching sides, Virtus.pro won a few more rounds, but Kinguin kept the lead: 6-9. VP.G2A prevailed in the second pistol round. After two ecos from Kinguin, Virtus.pro bridged the score gap again (9-9). The teams continued to trade rounds, showing an even fight (12-12). Despite several mistakes, VP.G2A took the map into overtime (15-15). It was then that the Bears weren’t able to please their fans, losing four rounds in a row and the map: 15-19.

Second map stats (Cbble)

Virtus.pro started on offence with a victory in the pistol round (1-0). They continued with the fast and aggressive gameplay, winning the next four rounds (5:0). In round six, Kingpin repelled the attack and broke VP.G2A’s winning streak (5-1). Now with an insight into the Bears’ playstyle, Kinguin minimized the score gap by the end of the first half of the map (8-7). After switching sides, Virtus.pro won the pistol round again, maintaining their lead. Well-coordinated teamwork allowed VP.G2A to repel most of the opponent’s attacks, with only two of Kinguin’s assaults reaching the end goal. Without slowing down the pace, the Bears finished the game with a 16-9 victory on their “home” map.

Hellraisers will be Virtus.pro’s next opponent in Season 5 of the ESL Pro League. The match will be held 23 February at 21:20 CET.
