Vaevictis bested Virtus.pro at LCL 2017

The match between Virtus.pro and Vaevictis eSports would decide the top spot in the tournament rankings, which would guarantee advancement to the playoffs. The previous game between the two teams had not been played, with Vaevictis receiving a default loss for not showing up.

Ivan “Paranoia” Tipukhov spilled the first blood, but Vaevictis eSports immediately responded with two kills. Virtus.pro won the positioning game and gained a gold lead. A series of successful fights increased VP’s lead to 5k gold by the 17-minute mark. Virtus.pro stayed ahead in the match until the 30th minute, when Virtus.pro lost a fight without trading, allowing Vaevictis to take Baron Nashor. VP repelled the opponent’s attack on the high ground, redressed the balance and proceeded to break the mid lane. During their next attempt at taking the high ground, Vaevictis eSports destroyed all inhibitors and then took the Elder Dragon as well as Baron Nashor. Unable to hold out against a buffed opponent, Virtus.pro lost three players while defending the high ground, and were defeated.

Gambit Esports will be VP’s next opponent. The match will be held 11 March at 15:00 CET.
