"We just need adapting format we have on Nuke for players to other maps". Big interview with TaZ

Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas in a big interview tells how to set up a team game, what he remembered about trip on the quadrocycles in Mykonos and answers if Virtus.pro will win the "only Nuke" tournament.

I think that all the comments about our team and problems we have are a bit over-exaggerated. I think that there are some things we obviously have to change, but there are also things that we are doing good, still. It's just a matter of focusing and fixing the stuff that is not working. Obviously, we're a team with many resources, this is why we tend to experiment and change stuff. This is why we... even if we win events, we try to do more: we try to make more tactics, we try to be over one step ahead of everyone. But sometimes, or most of the times it just goes bad for us — instead of going ahead of everyone, we just fall down miserably. And then we get up and just get back to our spot — which is at the top.

I don't think we'll have any bootcamps coming soon, I don't think that it's needed. We already made a lot of good tactics, we have a lot of good things going for our team. So mainly now it's just changing small things in a team, which we need to discuss in the team, not in the interviews. And playing Counter Strike, practicing. That's all we need.

Actually we don't train Nuke more than other maps. We simply like this map more than others, and it just feels comfortable when we are playing it. nSo this is something we need to take from Nuke and adapt to other maps. And I think it will work. It's a hard question when you ask if we would win an "only Nuke" tournament. Because there are many good teams on Nuke. We just simply have a good streak at the moment on the Nuke. And we just enjoy playing it. It feels like we don't enjoy any other map as much as we enjoy playing Nuke. And we just need to change it by adapting the format, the structure we have on Nuke for players to other maps.

When we went to Mykonos, we actually didn't know what to expect — we didn't know if the event will be run good or bad. But then when I met Redeye, Paul Chaloner, I kinda knew that this will be a good event because he's a guy who always is very solid in whatever he does, so. I knew that it will be a good event and it was really amazing. It was totally different from any other events, you know — having a villa for your own team with a pool — actually, we were getting provided with almost everything we wanted. It founded a connection of tournament and holidays... which we don't deserve, anyway. But yeah, it was something fresh. It was a pretty cool event.

The guys went with the idea that we should all rent quads and just travel around the isle on our own, not taking the shuttle all the time. It was connected with the place we were staying, because our villa was very far away from the civilization, so it was always a rough ride, especially with the shuttle. So they decided that it would be good idea to take quads, so we all took quads and we were, basically, like the quad-squad: going around the island, looking at all these nice views and just chilling.  And have this air... in the hair... but I don't have hair, so guys, guys had it.

We are getting different kinds of messages: we are getting the hatred messages, we're getting the good messages. Where people try to cheer us up and motivate us to still work harder and just make some successful events. But it's normal in life — you know, we are public personalities, we go on social media, we have twitters, we have facebook fanpages, instagrams. So people write different stuff, there are different people, different kinds of support.

I'm a person who always believes that the future is bright, especially for our team. I'm the last one to tell you that there's a problem, I'm the last one who would tell you that we need to change something. I think that we are in a tough spot. We need to get ourselves together, we need to talk, we need to be open on how to tackle the problem and we'll do it. I believe that this is the line-up which we assembled four years ago — it was only four years playing together. And I think that there's a reason for it — why we're still here, why we.

This is the first time people are actually in shock: "Oh my god, they're playing so bad for so long, right?!". The reason behind this is that we're so talented. This time, we're so talented. Other line-ups, other players didn't change this much. It's almost the same people playing all the time. So I think it's just a matter of us tweaking some stuff and we'll be back, and we'll be fighting for number one spots.
