Immortals will be Virtus.pro’s first opponent in Cologne

The organizers of ESL One Cologne 2017 have announced the matches of the first round of the group stage, due to begin July 4. Our CS:GO roster’s run in the tournament will start with a match against the Brazilian team Immortals.

Scheduled for July 4, 13:15 CET, the match between Virtus.pro G2A and Immortals will be broadcast on ESL’s main livestream.

The Swiss system was chosen for the group stage of the Cologne championship, after beating the GSL format by four votes. All group stage matches will be best-of-ones, played over three days. The eight best teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will battle each other in an elimination bracket, culminating in a best-of-5 grand final.

ESL One Cologne 2017 will be the first of ten tournaments that will decide the winner of the Intel Grand Slam, a special $1 million prize that will go to the first team to win four tournaments hosted between ESL and DreamHack.
