Nikolai Petrossian, CEO of Virtus.pro:
"Last year, we signed our first Overwatch 2 roster and began diving deep into the title. Over the past six months, we've witnessed its immense potential and growth opportunities, along with strong publisher support and a thriving esports ecosystem. Additionally, securing partner status has given us a significant boost in our options with the team and expanded our ability to plan for the long term. These factors have positioned Overwatch 2 as one of our club's top priorities, and we are committed to investing substantial resources to make this year a groundbreaking one in the title.
To achieve our ambitions, we need a strong roster. In our new squad, we’ve taken a unique approach: we’ve combined players from Korea and Europe, two regions that have very different styles and approaches to the game. Under the guidance of an experienced coach, they will prepare for upcoming challenges and play the official season at our regular European bootcamp.
We are happy with the roster we’ve assembled and expect the players to represent our club well on the international stage."
Cho “SMASH” Beewon, Head Coach of Virtus.pro in Overwatch 2:
"Our new roster brings together a unique blend of European and Korean talent, as well as a strong mix of experience and potential. It’s an amazing team, and I can’t wait to dive into the official matches!"
Virtus.pro expresses gratitude to the players who were part of our Overwatch 2 roster last year. Rasmus “Raajaro” Rosvall, Christian “Khenail” Ríos, Paavo “Sauna” Ulmanen, and Viljami “Clowd” Pikkumäki represented the Bears with honor, gave their all, and played with full heart. We wish them the best of luck in their future careers.
