"NewBee made mistakes, and we exploited them.” Solo and Lil on the semi-finals victory.

Alexei “Solo” Berezin and Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk shared some insight on their victory over NewBee in ESL One Hamburg 2017 semi-finals.

Alexei “Solo” Berezin: "NewBee made mistakes and we exploited them. The game went smoothly – 2:1 in our favor. They kind of surprised it on the map number two: we picked 4 ranged heroes and were debating if we should ban Timbersaw. We finally decided that Ursa is more dangerous, but in the end, it was Timbersaw who took us down.

Right now we're heading to the hotel; there's a huge break ahead of us. We'll take a snack, analyze replays, discuss our gameplan, who we're facing and we'll be getting ready.”

Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk: "We could have won that [second] map at any moment – we had a draft for that. Something went wrong, we started dying one by one, and finally, Vova (No[o]ne) was eliminated without a buy-back. We decided not to stall and conceded.

Our Broodmother pick forced NewBee in an awkward situation. We weren't showing that hero at all, and they had a very unfortunate pick against her. They had to put their Earthshaker on the middle, he was ultimately being played by their support Hu "Kaka" Liangzhi. They had to lineswap, which lead to their downfall. Well, and then we, obviously, closed out the game.”

Virtus.pro G2A will challenge the winners of the Team Secret – Team Liquid match in the championship's grand-finals at 21:30, Moscow time.
