Everything you need to know about Av3k, Virtus.pro's new QuakeCon contestant

Maciej “Av3k” Krzykowski – professional Quake player. He participated in his first tournament when he was only 14 years old in March of 2006. Despite his young age, Maciej Krzhykowski quickly became recognized as one of the most famous players in the world.

Av3k secured his QuakeCon 2017 Duel tournament spot by defeating buckster in the grand finals of Europe's second preliminary series.

Facts you should know about Virtus.pro's new player:

  • In 2006, Av3k was nominated for the titles Player of the Year and Quake Revelation of the Year by competitive gaming media around the globe.
  • When he was only 16 years old, Av3k went undefeated in Electronic Sports World Cup in 2007, claiming the title of the youngest Quake Champion in the world.
  • In 2007, he secured the title of the eSports Award's Breakthrough of the Year.
  • Between 2008 to 2010, he finished in first place in DreamHack tournaments three times.
  • Av3k is widely regarded as one of the best Quake IV players of all time. Only four players managed to defeat him: Anton "Cooller" Singov, Alex "Ztrider" Ingarv, Magnus "fox" Olsson, and Toxjq.
  • Av3k took a break from professional e-sports player career after winning FaceIt Legends Cup in 2012.
  • After Quake Live, Av3k tested the waters in such games as Shootmania, TF2 and Overwatch. In Shootmania, he was Alexey “Cypher” Yanushevsky's teammate.
