Virtus.pro return to StarCraft II

Virtus.pro announce the signing of Maxwell "Astrea" Angel, who will be representing the club in StarCraft II.

Nikolai Petrossian, CEO of Virtus.pro:

"StarCraft is a legendary brand that has been around since the early days of esports. 10 years ago, the club had a roster in SC II. Now we are returning to this classic title towards the end of the competitive season, culminating in the EWC at the end of summer, where Max will be playing via direct invitation.

Despite our past experience, I can say that we are starting fresh in SCII. We will need time to properly assess the long-term prospects of our club in this direction."

Nikita Lutov, Chief Esports Development Officer at Virtus.pro:

"Astrea is currently the strongest player in the Western hemisphere, as evidenced by his first place in the regional rankings. Over his more than decade-long career, Max has repeatedly proven that he can not only aggressively play Protoss, but also turn the tide of battle in the most unexpected moments. We will see him in action under our tag for the first time at one of the last major LAN events of the season, ESL SC2 Masters 2024 Spring, where he qualified in first place. See you at the upcoming tournaments!"

ESL SC2 Masters 2024 Spring will take place from May 31 to June 2.
